Was to be the bookclub

I was going to go to my bookclub today... but am really exhausted and beg Benoit to take over for me... then last night, Alicia has a fever, a very runny nose and runny eyes... we resort to giving her paracetamol up her bum (a la francais) at 3am to bring down the temperature... and I wipe her nose as requested by her for the next 2 hours. (how do you teach a 2 yr old to blow her nose???)

I stay in my pyjamas until 1600hrs (watching Memoirs of a Geisha on DVD) when I have a bank appointment (for someone else...the BNP for your future reference): the conversation goes like this:
I would like an appointment to sign a proxy form so I can sign cheques for someone else (who doesn't speak much French and is going away) ... response: you can't make an appointment for someone unless they are standing next to you. (do I lie at this point and say they are?) Anyway, said person who doesn't speak much French, fumbles by and does get an appointment, having requested the same thing as I (person who answered the phone spoke a little English).
We arrive at said appointment: where the man says this is impossible to do (i.e. only account holders can sign cheques) - SO WHY DID YOU GIVE ME AN APPOINTMENT THEN IDIOT? YOU WERE ASKED THE SAME QUESTION TWICE BY DIFFERENT PEOPLE... DIDN'T YOU LISTEN? ESPECIALLY WHEN I ASKED WHAT PAPERWORK YOU REQUIRED TO PERFORM THIS TASK?
... so a wasted journey.

Banks this month, I've had enough of.
