Bordeaux

From the 19th April til 24th we were in Bordeaux at A's parents - shopping (BHV is a fab store there in the Arcin shopping centre) and sitting in the garden.

One great thing I discovered when I was on the SNCF.com site booking the train tickets (Bordeaux to Montpellier) - a kids area (espace enfants) on the train. I wasn't sure when I booked it what it was..... but in the end it was a new carriage with compartments (without doors) which we had all to ourselves.

In the middle of one of the areas, they'd taken out seats and put in squashy cushions and a rug with roads and houses on it (bring your own toy cars) - so we sat on the floor and played and picnicked... and we had 6 seats all to ourselves and Alicia slept for 2 hours stretched across 2 seats.

Ah, there were also toddler seats with seat belts in each compartment... a much better idea than having a two year old sitting (or jumping up and down) on your lap for four and a half hours... and it's a free service.
