Anduze's Steam Train

I'm going back and updating the rest of my diary - I just wanted to put this video here for Sydney who is thinking of living in Anduze.

...... Diary back-filling-in completed - loads of new photos put in too... go back and have a look.

So today we picked up Jaspa and drove to the Anduze train station for the 11am RDV - catching the 1130am train to St Jean du Gard. It's going to be a lovely day and we have a fab picnic packed (roast vegetable and mozzarella pasta salad, a couple of bottles of beer - a very ripe camembert and nice bread and a bag of cherries... yum.) It's great as we have our own carriage as a group and aren't squashed in... as Sundays in the Summer can be quite busy.

The train takes you over countryside you can't see from the road and some of the views are just amazing:

After eating we toddle into St Jean du Gard for a coffee and an ice cream and then wander around the back streets of the village crossing back over the bridge and find a little country path behind the aquarium - where we find a small stream full of frogs and a field full of wild flowers and wish we'd taken our picnic there instead.

Everybody on the way home is much quieter (most of them have spent the whole time in a restaurant consuming large amounts of rose / 2 people actually did the 5km suggested walk.) I've managed to get sunburned shoulders having slathered Alicia in factor 40.
