Dog sitting in the Vaunage still

Still dog sitting today... up and out for a dog walk early (courtesy of the toddler), breakfasted and then out checking the gite in Aubais by 9.10am - shock horror..... that includes dressing and cajoling a toddler into clothes and then into the car.

All well in Aubais, apart from the fact a freezing cold wind (and stunning blue skies) has arrived and when we stop in Calvisson for a paper and a gros pain, I linger in the toasty bread shop longer than necessary.

I was also tempted to buy a pumpkin for Alicia to carve into a lantern, but they were selling them for Euro6.00 a quarter ... so a whole one would require a mortgage.... and why does the Calvisson shop sell every English paper under the sun on a Saturday or Sunday, but not on a week day? A Daily Telegraph it was... I like a paper with articles in it - not just the news... so really I'm a Daily Mail kinda girl.

Hot hot tomato and basil soup for lunch... and we sit in the veranda and play Lego and dominoes with Alicia until the sun is so strong and warm we all want to doze off. 'A' then goes into Nimes for his last interview for his Bilan de Competance - they reckon he should actually be installing things like solar panels or complicated computerised air conditioning systems into houses, rather than designing databases for websites.... Still any job in this climate is better than nothing.

While Alicia has her nap I spend a couple of hours on Christmas card lists for work - mailing lists for work - newspaper clippings for work and so on. Roll on the holidays....
