So we leave Spain..

This should have been on 7th November...

We've had a great time in Spain. Even the people watching was great. This lunchtime excelled itself. Our hotel was mainly English inhabited, but as it was the end of the season we were given a voucher to eat in the posh sister hotel down the road again - where the French hang out.

Lunch was signed to start at 1pm. The foyer of the hotel was full of French OAPs (clubs du troisieme age?) - it was absolutely packed at 1240hrs - all queuing (loose sense of the word) at the restaurant door. Just trying to get by them to get to the bar was a fight. They had their 'market elbows' at the ready.

When we did get in for lunch - I was too worried to take Alicia up to the buffet to choose just in case she got trampled in the rush (I -am-not-exaggerating-here.)

Here I am with my 'all inclusive-drink-anything-you-can-before-it-runs-out' card getting a glass of wine at a time - and here are the French handing over vouchers and getting a whole bottle! Also, every French person had a plastic bag with cartons of cigarettes seemingly at all times. NB petrol was also .30 cents less a litre there than in France.
