Languedoc Sun - March / April

Languedoc Sun

le magazine régional tout en anglais

Dear Readers and Partners,

Languedoc Sun January/February is available at all our distribution points. You can also download it from our site at www.languedocsun.com.

For the first time Languedoc Sun has two pages written in French – on how to enjoy a weekend in London.

We also have accounts from Lizzie, Sara, Holly and Linda about their special associations; proof of the time and energy they are willing to invest, while Christopher, Jurgen and David are equally committed to bringing information about this region.

Spring is the time to get out and about. On the 18/19th April there is a soap box race in Berlous which should be lots of fun. Alternatively, what better time to walk on the stunning Mont Caroux. If however, you prefer working in your garden, Hilary has some excellent advice to give for anyone starting from scratch.

We have an interview with Paul Dreissen who talks about his work and how he came to be an animator for the film ‘The Yellow Submarine’; and tips on the use of capital letters, plus a guide for fish names in French.

Our recipe this issue, la Bourride sétoise, is both delicious and easy to make. We have the story of two feisty ladies who have salvaged their vineyard from a catastrophic storm, and if you are planning to travel in Europe, advice on how to apply for la Carte Européenne d’Assurance Maladie, just in case you fall ill. For further practical advice, Peter has an update on new steps concerning your tax declaration for this year.

From 10 am until 5 pm on Sunday 29th March, the Château Abbaye de Cassan is opening its doors to the first Salon des Vins du Languedoc. This is an event not to be missed. Over 250 regional wines from 60 Domaines will be presented, plus a tombola with a hundred bottles of wine to win!

May/June issue will be out on 4th May. If you would like to get in touch, place an advertisement or simply have your say, please write to us before the 14th April.

Enjoy your reading
